In a high-level briefing held this morning at the SSFF headquarters, department heads and key stakeholders met to align on the logistical and technical frameworks required to ensure the tournamentโ€™s success. The session served as a comprehensive roadmap for the event, focusing on three core pillars: logistical requirements, tournament regulations, and player eligibility.

A significant portion of the meeting was dedicated to the results of the recent player screening process. To maintain the integrity of the youth competition, officials provided an update on the vetting of athletes drawn from various academies and schools. This screening ensures all participants meet the age requirements and are properly registered before taking the pitch.

The competition is set to be a vibrant display of rising talent, featuring a total of 16 teams:

โ€ข 13 Academies from across the region.

โ€ข 3 Schools selected for their strong athletic programs.

While the competitive spirit is expected to be high, the primary goal remains the identification and nurturing of young female talent to bolster the future of South Sudanโ€™s national womenโ€™s teams.

This tournament is a vital bridge between grassroots training and professional developmen t for our young athletes. โ€” Jackson Gamu, the Manager of the Youth Football Development Department.

Football fans and participating institutions wonโ€™t have to wait long for the action to begin. The SSFF announced that the official dates for the draw and the opening kickoff will be communicated in the coming days.
