๐๐๐๐ | ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ฒ, ๐๐๐๐ โ In a significant move toward elevating the standard of football in South Sudan, the Technical and Development Committee of the South Sudan Football Federation (SSFA) held a high-level introductory meeting yesterday, February 24th, 2026.
The session, led by Committee Chairperson Mr. Thiong John and attended by Deputy Secretary General Mrs. Viola Wili, focused on a singular, unified goal: achieving long-term technical excellence through a robust professional roadmap for local coaches.

A Unified Front for Football Development
The primary objective of the meeting was to bridge the gap between administrative planning and field execution. By fostering a closer working relationship between the Technical Development Committee and the Coaches Committee, the SSFA aims to create a streamlined pathway for coaching success.
Key highlights from the strategic discussion included:
โข Strengthening One Goal: Formalizing a collaborative framework where both committees work in lockstep to implement national technical policies.
โข Professionalization Standards: Setting higher benchmarks for coaching certifications to ensure South Sudanese tacticians meet international requirements.
โข Technical Excellence: Shifting the focus toward a “long-term” development model rather than short-term fixes.
Celebrating the CAF B Milestone
During the session, Mr. Thiong John took the opportunity to commend the Coaches Committee for their consistent hard work. He specifically highlighted the ongoing CAF B Course, praising the steady progress and commitment shown by the participants.
“The progress we are seeing in the CAF B Course is a testament to the talent and ambition within our coaching ranks,” Mr. Thiong noted. “By professionalizing our coaches, we are effectively professionalizing the entire game in South Sudan.”
Moving Forward
With the Deputy Secretary General, Mrs. Viola Wili, providing administrative oversight, the federation is now poised to move from the planning phase to active implementation. This partnership ensures that as the CAF B Course nears completion, the infrastructure for even higher levels of training will be firmly in place.
