The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) has announced that it has mutually agreed to part ways with senior menโ€™s national team head coach Nicolas Dupuis, ending his 28-month tenure with the Bright Stars.
In a statement delivered by Mr Abrham Ajok, acting chairman of the National Teams Committee, during a press conference this morning, the federation confirmed that the decision followed the signing of a Mutual Settlement and Release Agreement between the two parties on March 11, 2026. The SSFF praised Dupuis for his professionalism and commitment during his tenure and wished him success in his future career.
โ€œCoach Dupuis concludes his tenure after 28 months of dedicated service, during which he demonstrated professionalism and commitment to the development of the national team,โ€ the federation said in its statement.
With crucial fixtures approaching, the federation also announced interim technical arrangements. Assistant coach Ashu Cyprian Besong will temporarily lead the team in the upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations preliminary qualifiers against Djibouti, scheduled for March 26 and 29 at Juba National Stadium, while the SSFF works to appoint a permanent head coach.

In a farewell message to the South Sudanese football family, Dupuis expressed gratitude to the federationโ€™s leadership and pride in the team’s progress during his tenure. He thanked the SSFF for the confidence placed in him and paid tribute to his players and staff.

โ€œFor 28 months, I had the pleasure of working alongside my players and my staff, whom I respect immensely,โ€ Dupuis said, describing his players as not only talented footballers but also โ€œwonderful people.โ€ He voiced confidence in the future of the national team, saying the Bright Stars remain competitive and are on the right path as they prepare for the matches against Djibouti.
